The horoscope is often used as a means to approach psychological structures. In this way meaningful issues are touched upon. However, a person is more than his or her personality. That is why spiritual questions which place a person in a larger scope often remain unanswered. Questions concerning the purpose of incarnation, the spiritual qualities and clarity we originally possess, and the reason for the patterns we have created in the course of our life. Spiritual astrology addresses such questions.
As mankind has lost its place in paradise, we all leave this state of unity to gain experience in duality. You may say this is a process of incarnation in which we lose our spirituality, our clarity, when coming from heaven down to earth.
The Nodes in our chart indicate the stream of experiences we need to be focused on. In fact our North Node is what we bring with us from the state of unity into the world of polarities. This is our natural gift from the cosmos, that we want to share with everyone else, still being a lightbody ourselves.
In daily life however, the clarity we represent will be overlooked by others, rather than appreciated as a precious gift. That’s why we turn our backs on the North Node once we enter into the process of the progressed New Moon phase. The big dilemma here is the choice between adapting to or refusing the world. If we adapt, we lose our clarity and spiritual qualities, our sight on the meaning of life; if we don’t, it will be very hard for us to live in a world that doesn’t support us.
In order to receive appreciation from the world – the only way to experience life anyway, so we have no choice in the matter really – we conform and start building an ego, an image of ourselves. By taking that step we decide to work out our South Node skills until we reach the moment of our progressed Full Moon phase. Then we start feeling uncomfortable and restless, and the big question arises: ‘is this all there is?’
Bring your chart with you if you don’t know it by heart.
