Andrew Morton is a former Vice-President of the Astrological Lodge of London and has spoken previously on matters both astronomical and astrological. Andrew is the founding organiser of the Lodge’s ‘Astrology and Healing’ seminar.

Chris will be looking at what techniques medieval astrologers used to make their predictions, citing the work of Gersonides, a learned rabbi and brilliant mathematician, who was commissioned by the Vatican to look at the significance of the Grand Conjunction of 1345. Conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn were also considered important by medieval astrologers since they only change element every 240 years and therefore these cycles can set the stage for thousand year periods. The manuscripts written by Gersonides show not only how he came to his conclusions but also give insight into the house system used and Chris will try out these techniques tonight too see what plagues may be afflicting us today!

Chris has had a life-long interest in astrology, holds the Diploma in Medieval Astrology from Astrologos and hasan MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University College. He is a regular contributor to a number of astrology newsgroups and forums, a regular speaker at a number of local astrology groups, has written a number of published articles both for astrological publications and the local press, and has provided consultancy to the BBC. He helped set up a public astrology group in Bristol, Arcturus Rising, and is a member of NCGR and AFAN, two US-based astrological organisations as well as the UK’s major astrological organisation The Astrological Association.

David will present a sequence of four horary charts cast to predict the harvests over three seasons at an English vineyard, explaining the method adopted and the predictions made.
