Buddhist Meditation & Astrology

Garry will look at the ways in which Theravadan Buddhist practice can inform, inspire and improve our practice of astrology, with specific focus on metta (loving-kindness) and vipassana (insight) meditations. This practical orientation will be the basis for discussion of points of contact between Buddhist philosophy and astrology, including rebirth and the doctrine of non-self (anatta).

Garry Phillipson was a Buddhist monk for six years and has been an astrologer for thirty. He is the author of Astrology in the Year Zero and a pHD candidate at Bath Spa Univerity College.
