For women the storms of mid-life are often felt most acutely and obviously as menopause; men also go through changes and have to face the inescapable fact of their mortality. Study of the collective transits and generational signatures as well as specific indicators in the individual chart can help with navigating this complex passage.

Lara Owen has been a professional astrologer since 1994, and draws on her background in Chinese medicine and process-oriented psychology in her work. She is the author of "Her Blood Is Gold" (HarperCollins and Aquarian/Thorsons 1993) "Honouring Menstruation" (Crossing Press 1998), and the forthcoming "Making Peace with Menopause". Lara has lectured internationally including teaching for the University of California and the California State Oriental Medical Association.
