Combining solar returns, profections and other traditional predictive
techniques
 The correct
combination of techniques is one of the keys to successful prediction.
While each technique by itself can offer a partial view of future possibilities,
a correct combination of techniques provides proper focus, context and
timing leading to greater and more detailed accuracy.
In this lecture we will demonstrate such a combination using solar returns,
profections and certain techniques, applied to the nativities.
Luís Ribeiro is a full-time astrologer, teacher and researcher in Astrology.
Luís was born in Setúbal in 1974. He started studying Astrology in 1991
and started his practice in 1995.
In 1999 she started working with Helen Avelar
and founded a school in Lisbon - Academia
de Estudos Astrológicos (Academy of Astrological Studies). The school
offers a four-year course that includes the fundaments of the astrological
interpretation, basic astronomy and calculation as well as counselling
skills. The school also promotes regularly workshops and lectures with
renowned guest astrologers.
Besides the teaching and lecturing Helena and Luís publish a monthly
astrological bulletin and they write articles for specialised magazines.
Their research work focuses mainly on recovering the traditional practice,
investigation on the History of Astrology in Portugal and on Mundane Astrology.
Luis holds a diploma on Medieval Astrology with Robert Zoller and is researching
the use of Traditional Techniques.
Since 2002 they organise Stellium - the Portuguese Astrological Conference,
that reunites both Portuguese and foreign astrologers.
They have two published books:
Vamos Falar de Astrologia (Let's Talk about Astrology), 2003, a FAQ
book with more than 110 questions about interpretation, History, Astronomy,
counselling and ethics in the astrological area.
Astrologia Real (Royal Astrology), 2004, a research book that presents
the charts of the kings and queens of Portugal and interpretation based
on the traditional line.
