Lodge Lecture

It is always a pleasure to welcome Christine Chalklin back to the Lodge. Her talk entitled Don't Cry for me Argentina focused on Eva Peron (Maria Eva Duarte de Peron) . She was born (7th May 1919, 5:08 am. Los Toldos, Argentina), the 5th illegitimate child in abject poverty. When she was 7 on her Saturn Square, her father was killed. After his death her mother moved and opened a boarding house. She love drama and always dreamed of becoming an actress. Always said she would marry a prince or a president. When she was 14 on Saturn opposition she ran away to Buenos Aries. The story of Eva Peron is a very familiar one and her chart with its Saturn/Moon conjunction, Sun/Mars conjunction and a dignified Jupiter.

When she met Juan Peron at a charity event for earthquake victims transits for the day included the Sun on her mid-heaven. Christine put up the charts of Juan Peron and of Argentina so that we could see the connections. They married 22nd October 1935.

She looked at all the times of her life and the way she changed her image over the years, her immense popularity (almost sainthood) but she finally died of cancer of the womb on July 26th 1952 timed at 08:27. She was embalmed after her death.

She finally looked at the chart of Madonna who played her in the film and looked at the similar likeness between them with her Sun being conjunct Eva's Moon/Saturn conjunction and Argentina's Ascendant as well as other aspects.

She finally put up the chart of the current president of Argentina, Christina, wife of the previous President, who modeled herself on Evita whose chart picked out all the same degrees and planets as Evita's and Argentina's charts.

Class

This week was the second class in the series of Heavens Above with Andrew Morton and this week he took and extensive look at Uranus, discovered by Freidrich Hershell and the history of its discovery. We looked as his chart and and tried to decide whether or not it was a eureka moment or whether the discovered by accident. There was no birth time for his chart. On looking at his chart it did not seem that obvious that he would be the person to make a life changing discovery. However when he looked at the 5th and 7th harmonic charts it all came together.
