At the Lodge - 14th January 2008 |
||||
Lodge LectureThe first day of term was given by Chris Mitchell of the Bristol Astrology group. His talk was on the fascinating subject of Astrological Geomancy. The ancient art of geomancy, which means "fortune telling from the Earth", and has been practiced across the world for thousands of years from China (where it developed into the I Ching) to Africa and Arabic countries. By about a thousand years ago, it was well established by the Arabs, who combined it with astrology and introduced it to medieval Europe to form a system of divination that was flexible enough to be used for simple fairground fortune-telling, or to run the complex affairs of kings. Chris demonstrated the method used by 16th century astrologer and magician Cornelius Agrippa, and did free fortune telling during the tea break! ClassThis was the first of a series of four classes by Claire Chandler on America at the Crossroads. She looked at the run up to the Presidential election on November 4th 2008. There are no front runners at this stage and no natural inheritors. This class was taken up by looking at various techniques for mundane prediction. You can look at the slide show by clicking here. |
