At the Lodge - 10th March 2008 |
||||
Lodge LectureThe final lecture of the term was given by Sid Jeffries His talk was entitled Fate and Freewill: Complimentary opposites. Fate gets a bad press in this age of opportunity and is one of the principal objections against astrology, bedfellows over many millennia. Astrology, logic and dramatic new evidence properly recognise fate and freewill as complementary opposites, not contradictions. Predetermination means sharing not abdicating responsibility, acknowledging the forceful factor of circumstances and the roles of karma and destiny. A Grand Plan, perhaps. the popular logic of prophecy. Tonight he explored this most challenging and significant of astrological principles. ClassThis week this was replaced with our Lodge Ritual and the mediation took place with everyone in a circle and all members taking part. This seems to be the way it will take form in the future. |
