Lodge Lecture

This was a very special evening which was shared by Melanie Reinhart and Andrew Morton in a talk about Pluto. Melanie started her talk by conveying a story of a friend who had died in a hospice and described the feeling of as being so Plutonian. She looked at the symbolism of Pluto, of how it touches the soul, how it gets burnished in the soul. She also spoke about where the planets dwelled in the Asteroid belt and the Keiper belts. Pluto being the king of the Keiper belt.

Andrew started his part of the talk by explaining his idea of roundness, the eternal motion of the earth and the planets and history of the various past masters who produced work proving the circles of the planets, including Aristotle, Gallaleo and Kepler. He then went to talk about the discovery of Asteroids. He touched on the discovery of 'Zena' and how it came to be named, which turned out to be a little bit bigger than Pluto. He also talked about Sedna, looked at the discussions of the definitions of what a planet, centaur, asteroids would be. These discussions then identified what might be considered as dwarf planets. He also given the breakdown of the discussions that eventually voted Pluto to be a Dwarf plane tat the IAU conference. What then should Astrologers define as planets?

Second Part - a Discussion

Melanie spoke further of symbolism with a supposed terrorist plot to blow up various planes. The week the IAU kicked Pluto out of the solar system. Then there is a tape from Osama Bin Laden (coming back from the underworld.) The process that is going on has enough power to be displayed on the world stage. That which has been discarded is among the symbolism of Pluto. Other symbolism is rites of passage, death, re-invention,

Andrew went on to talk about the discovery and naming of planets and other objects.

Melanie talked about the naming of Keiper belt objects that were called Centaurs, which were looked at by their astrological orbits with Chiron crossing the orbit of Saturn. She spoke of 30 12. 1999. Conjunction of Pluto and Chiron. Millennium bug. Hi-jacking that lasted about a week. Killing passengers one by one. Many other things that were to come that this conjunction foretold. She also looked at Persephone and Eris as it was then called (the personification of discord amongst men?) Eris as a signifier of jihads, crusades, more and more suffering on the planet. She was responsible for the Trojan war. If we know what causes this then we should be able to pull the plug on this. Even if we would be able to stop now it would take generations to heal the consequences of our actions. It is in Aries at present. Essence of Pluto energy is the Pluto consciousness which are doom scenarios. It brings about the downfall and rebirth of what happens on earth.

Andrew finished the talk looking at the position of all these planets and how Pluto may have been pushed further out into the Solar system by Neptune. A full discussion took place with the audience.

We did the event chart of when Big Brother was first televised. Moon conjoining Uranus shows the innovation of a new TV show. All those planets in the 11th including Venus in Leo, the appeal to the masses and the sun/North node, Mars and Mercury, are symbolising a home. The Jupiter and Saturn conjunction straddling the Midheaven showing its’ success as well as the strict conditions the contestants live in. Pluto in the 4th house, we all agreed symbolised the Big Brother theme and so close to Chiron, the open wound.

The transits for the week of the Jade Goody experience were so apt with Jupiter transiting the Pluto/Chiron, and Neptune fast approaching the Uranus, could this be symbolising its demise. Saturn will square the Saturn of the chart next year, from Leo, definitely not good. We only had a birth date for Jade, but we looked at the connection of this chart with that of the Big Brother chart and immediately noticed her Moon on its Sun, oh yes these two were just meant for each other. But the Mars on the Jupiter/Saturn shows they will also self-destruct, or at least cause problems for one another.

We also did the chart of David Beckham. His Mars in Pisces shows his romantic nature and in square to Venus, showing difficult relationships. Uranus is soon to transit this Mars, so more problems with relationships!!!? Jupiter is hitting his Neptune, showed the tears as he was signing the contract methinks. That Jupiter/Pluto opposition in his chart shows big and transformative challenges.

We looked at Victoria Beckham's chart in comparison to David’s and their Moons are in the same sign showing empathy, and her Venus/Jupiter conjunction is close to his Mars, definitely love then. Bless
