Lodge Lecture

So we came to the last night of the term with Penny Baird, Music teacher to Westminster School for many years as well as doing astrology for that long too.

Her talk was based around her new bookd entitled 'Hidden Zodiac', published by Janus Publishing Ltd.

This fascinating book draws together threads from an eclectic mix of sources, both ancient and modern, the story–lines of which conform to the astrological design formulated by the Sumerian civilisation (and, indeed, also developed by a number of subsequent civilisations.)

She studied the Sumerian creation myth, as well as others, and demonstrated the astonishing way in which the stories’ structures fit into the astrology–based ‘Wheelform’ design. She went on to relate other familiar (or not so familiar) narratives to the twelve sections of this fundamental design for life, including the tale of Odysseus, Jesus’s betrayal, trial and crucifixion, the Bayeux Tapestry, the Sanskrit play, Sakuntala and Wagner’s The Ring of the Nibelung. She put up around the room a copy of the Bayeaux tapestry and related the 'twelve house story' as we all turned full circle.
