Lodge Lecture
This week we were delighted to welcome Jennie Harte to
the Lodge. Her talks always look at what is going on in the sky and how
it is reflected below.
'First she put up the charts of the Jupiter Saturn conjunction at 23
Taurus, 28 May 2000. Then the chart for the 11 August 1999 total solar
eclipse at 19 Leo, and finally the chart for Venus S/D on 3 Feb. 2006,
at 16 Capricorn.
The reason for looking at these three charts was because she wanted to
pick out the aspects from all 3 charts that were 'echoing' now. 23 Taurus
was not only the Jupiter Saturn conjunction, it was also the point where
Mars went S/Rx (30 Sept 2005--when the Danish cartoons were first published!)
and the point where all the aggro with the Danish cartoons finally ignited
as Mars returned to 23 Taurus the day of her talk in February and when
all the newspapers were filled with news of unhappy Muslims around the
world. She Talked about the relationship between Denmark and Islam, vice
versa and even how the EU relates to Islam, via the charts of course.
Not only 23 Taurus was triggered, but the grand fixed cross of the middle
degrees of the fixed signs has kicked off (again and again, actually).
So Jupiter, Neptune (and Mars while it was going back and forth in Taurus)
and Saturn (now out of orb but he'll be back!) have been picking up the
99 eclipse points too.
She also talked about the waxing Jupiter Saturn square which goes on through
2006 and how we've seen tremendous changes in the way previously traditional
ideas.
Then she looked at the Liberal Democrats chart, along with Charles Kennedy,
Mark Oaten and Simon Hughes. Discussed the fact that their scandals hardly
raised an eyebrow and except for the furore that surrounded the revelations
about Oaten and Hughes (Kennedy's drinking was a well-known secret) in
the media during those 10 days or so in January/February, neither Oaten
nor Hughes was hounded out of public office, in fact, life went on pretty
much as it had before the revelations. So we (the public) have come to
accept that sexual preference (regardless of how many) didn't seem to
mean much in terms of how politicians are viewed--in terms of being able
to do their jobs.
She also talked about George Galloway, who has 24 Leo rising and Chiron
at 24 Capricorn and how those were triggered by tr Mars at 23 Taurus and
more. Basically this guy is a showman and he's on stage for better or
worse.
Finally (having had so much fun she ran out of time) She briefly gave
the details for the Thames Whale. First noticed swimming in the Thames
between Chelsea and Tower Bridges at 8.30am on 20 Jan 2006.'
This write up was generously provided by Jenni as I was away sick this
week.

Class
Sue Farebrother completed her series of three classes on the Nodes by
discussing the Nodes in transit. She suggested that if members of the
class were not already using these transits that they would find them
of relevance to an overall forecasting method.
Sue began by talking about Nodal returns and oppositions, and gave the
approximate ages at which these would take place, asking the class if
anyone had experienced any specific events or life changes at these times,
as these transits correlate for many people with such shifts in the life
direction. She tied the timing of these transits into the context of other
planetary returns or oppositions – from Jupiter outwards, mentioning
that the second Nodal opposition (ie the reversal of the Nodal axis) falls
at the age of 27-28, coinciding with the progressed Moon return and pre-empting
the first Saturn return.
She cited the case history of George Harrison’s nodal transits,
and looked at some specific events in the life of other famous people
through Nodal transits: Bob Dylan’s motorcycle crash and the Dalai
Lama’s assumption of secular and spiritual power, and his flight
to India.
Class participation was encouraged!
Sue mentioned a Synastry case with a significant Nodal contact. She may
return in future to the Lodge classes to talk on the Nodes in Synastry.
