Lodge Lecture

After last weeks sex, this week we looked at passion and although the same planet was indicated in both cases this was a different meaning. Lara Owen is no stranger to the Lodge. He talk focused on the fact where your passion is located in the chart you would find the key to health and happiness. So once we again we looked at Mars, where it was placed and how it would be expressed, the house it was it and its strength or weakness, how angular it was etc. The chart of Tony Blair features Mars conjunct the Asc. conjunct Saturn. While Bill Clinton also had Mars conjunct his Asc.in Libra, thus waging peace. Several public people have a strong Mars, including Oprah Winfrey. Mars conjunct the Asc. describes their passion and drive, especially if Mars is in Aries or Scorpio. This is also seen with the Sun, Jupiter and Pluto. The signs are Aries and Scorpio, also Leo and Sagittarius.

Lara then went on to discuss the root of passion. How it started off as being related to pain and suffering. She compared artists changing views through the ages. How art reflects cultural change. She noted how crimes of passion were accepted in France and how Mars is no longer seen as the malefic it once was. Now passion is seen as a positive feeling. Passion is born out of Mars and Venus and the strength of Mercury heals problems through rational thought.

Class

At our last Committee meeting it was decided that many of us did not know how to use our computer Software to its fullest capacity, so we elected to have one lesson per term to enlighten us a little. This was the first of these classes and Claire was joined by Roy Gillett from the Astrological Association, who also markets Solarfire Software over here.

As they took us through the basics it threw up more and more questions, which finished up assuring us that we need more tutoring in this complex and powerful Astrology software.
