The Carter Memorial Lecture was presented this year by the wonderful Sue Tompkins, Founder of the LSA and former head of teaching at the Faculty of Astrological studies. The summer had not been kind to quite a few of us and Sue was also one of its victims. A friend's dog has knocked her over and broken a leg! So we were very lucky to have her appear at the Lodge, though she did say that the talk would be muted because of this and the full talk will be published in the near future in the Astrology Quarterly .

The talk was entitled The Macrocosm - Microcosm Picture Show which was illustrated with many examples, including her own accident, and drew on different areas of astrology and facets of the natural world. The incidences were able to show the astrological symbolism. A typical fine talk by Sue. We will have to wait for the full version.

The term opened up with discussions of the charts of events we had missed over the summer.
