Lodge Lecture

Gill Dorren gave a brilliant glimpse of the Mayan culture, how they came to Yakatan, South America - and there is more than one account of how - around 10,000 BC. The Olmecs who played their special kind of football, were highly civilised and carved the famous Monolithic heads and whose language was similar to West African.

The Mayan mathematician Pacal Vetan 603 - 833 AD created 'the long count' . It was a calendar with eclipses and cycles. Venus was their star. They worshipped it as the morning star. Their Gods at on stools with signs and planets. The Long Count - Lamat. 1 day - Kin, 20 days - Vinal, 1 yr 365 days - 1 Tun, 20 yrs - 1 Katon, 20 x 20 yrs - 1 Barton. As we know for some reason it stops on December 25th 2012.

Each day in the Long Count creates a day in the cosmic consciousness so if you are born on that day you take on the consciousness of that time.

Class

So we came to the last class in this excellent series by Frank Clifford. He concentrated on the major themes of charts today. Transits, progressions and the shadow transits i.e. Saturn return to natal position, age 29, then catches up with the solar arc Saturn return at age 32. He also demonstrated the difference of looking at the chart from an equal house point of view. We also looked at sample charts and went over the traits, themes, types and planetary overtones. This was a very successful series of classes.
