Lodge Lecture | Class | Charts Discussion Lodge LectureThis week's lecture was a little different. Whenever we include music it always proves to be popular. Today we had the benefit of both Wanda Sellar and Santiago Mantas looking at the chart of Wolfgang A. Mozart. Santiago looked at the chart from the wonderful creative music he produced and also the chart of his father, which laid so heavily on his, showing the influence he had on him from an early age. He opened the evening by playing his Turkish Rhondo. Born in Salzburg, Germany 27th January 1766 at 10 am, Mozart started composing as a child and completed no less than 627 works. He had Virgo rising and ruling the first house which showed a strength of constitution. Wanda explained his medical background. The Ascendant, Virgo ruling intestines and absorption. Mercury, its ruler in Aquarius ruling the heart and circulation, was combust and conjunct Saturn, thus making the body weak. His father took him all over Europe at 5 yrs old. Travel weakened him, and he often did not sleep well. Saturn conjunct Pluto 17 deg each in the 4th house suggested an inherited condition. Jupiter sextiles this conjunction. He suffered a streptococcal throat age 7 and rheumatic fever, which notoriously weakens the heart. To add to these sicknesses he also got smallpox aged 12 together with scarlet fever, which damaged his kidneys. He died aged 35. Musically he shared a Pluto at 8 deg Aquarius with Rossini, Schubert, Bizet and Mendelssohn. At Age 25 he was so dominated by his father he broke free and became the first freelance composer. With Venus in Aquarius opposing Spica he proved to be a genius. The evening finished with more music. Carole WestClassThe second half of this class by Helene Shnitzer showed us how to bring the charts of two people together by making composite charts of them. Once again Helene used the samples of her single man and his many relationships. There were areas in each of the ladies' charts that draw them to him and the composite illustrated how the relationship succeeded for a while then led to an eventual breakdown, through transits and progressions. A fascinating series leaving lots of food for thought. Carole WestCharts DiscussionFirstly, we looked at the chart of Chelsea Football club, who recently won the Premiership. We also looked at the chart of their enigmatic Manager Jose Mourinho. Mars in opposition to Saturn. Sun/north node and Moon in Aquarius, enough said. It was predicted that the winter part of the football season would not be very good. Watch that space. We looked at the chart of Uzbekistan, and it was also predicted the end of the year would not be very good for this country. Mmmmm that Jupiter square Saturn is going to have a lot to answer for.
