Well it held all the hallmarks of being a superb evening and we were not disappointed. The hall was full to overflowing with many new faces in the audience. The lecture was entitled Club of 27 - or 'Children of Dionysus'. Led by Nick Kollerstrom who dreamed up the idea based on an article he wrote for the Mountain Astrologer, the evening moved through the lives of Janis Joplin, (presented by Alex Trenoweth) - Jim Morrison, (presented by Andrew Morton) - Brian Jones, (presented by John Etherington) - Jimi Hendrix (presented by Laura Boomer) and Kurt Cobain,( presented by Neil Spencer). Photos and music of the artists preceded each one. All the speakers excelled themselves and could have gone on all night.

The basis of the talk was that all the artists died before reaching their Saturn Returns, when they could have grown up. Instead they died on their Uranus-trine and Neptune-sextile returns. All of them appeared to have come from dysfunctional family backgrounds and all rebelled against their way of life. They were all attracted to music and turned into brilliant musicians and singers. Unfortunately with that lifestyle comes the attraction of drugs and all that the excesses carry with it.
