Carole Taylor, BA (Cantab) , D.F.Astrol.S. and Vice President of the Faculty of Astrological Studies gave a wonderful talk mainly focussing on the 5th and 7th houses, the most commonly known for relationships - although she pointed out that, in fact , every house created a relationship. The third with siblings and neighbours, the fourth with our parents, the sixth with work and the twelfth with the unconscious areas of ourselves. The fifth house reflected something of ourselves, romance and sexuality. Marriage in the 7th reflected what is in them belongs to us. The fifth house is in trine to the Ascendant, the 7th is in opposition. Venus is in her joy in the 5th house. It is the house of good fortune - Bonno Fortuna. Sex is where we let our guard down, we are uninhibited, free to be ourselves. The fifth house is about games, sport (adult playing), fun, affairs. We are off duty. We can let our hair down. Relationships falter when we do not engage productive personal power and sex drive. We can relax and be silly. It is the house of acting, and, of course, the house of creativity. The seventh house is the forgotten part of ourselves, the enemy within. Finding the shadow. Being with someone else starts the process, makes it difficult to make the relationship work. 7th house has the qualities we think we lack, things we don't like about ourselves. We form a relationship with others in order to accept it in ourselves. It is about sharing. Carole then put up a great series of charts ranging from Marlon Brando, who had Moon, Sun and Mercury in the Aries in the fifth house. The seventh house ruler was also in the fifth, thus making all his marriages seem only like affairs. Princess Margaret, who had Sun conjunct Neptune in Leo the fifth, someone who lived her life in drama and romance. She closed the talk with a lovely quote from Romeo and Juliet. Thank you Carole. Carole will be at the Lodge again on April 24th for our day on Astrology in Practise Carole WestClass
He explained that Horary is magical. The symbols become a real life scenario. You need to get it into your mind to create the scenario. Then you need to learn the language. For example if an early degree rises, then it is too early to say, or the person asking the question was too young or inexperienced. The Ascendant and its ruler must describe the person and the situation. Commune. We were told to learn the language. Time the chart when the question occurs as a Horary question. Correspondence. Something that corresponds with something else. Real life instances into Astrology. Look at the Radicality. A Void of Course Moon or Saturn in the first or the seventh house. Don't try to rush judgement. Take your time. Look at the strengths and the weaknesses of the planets. Richard then put up three charts to put it all into practice, of instances based around recent happenings for him at his home. A great first class. Check out this page. Carole WestCharts DiscussionFirstly we looked at the chart of Hedy Lamar. The Hollywood actress who was also an inventor. The outer planets in conjunction showed her uniqueness. We, of course, then looked at the charts of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. They have announced they are to wed on 8th April - when there will be a Solar Eclipse and this was discussed. Camilla Parker Bowles has an amazing chart (please see details on the data page) with a plethora of planets over the 11th and 12th houses, with 4 in the 12th house including Pluto rising. A woman with deep undertones. Moon conjoining Venus in Cancer will show a strong maternal personality. Prince Charles, at present, has Jupiter transiting his Venus/Neptune conjunction in Libra, a good time to get married me thinks, very romantic. We then did the chart of Honor Blackman, voted the sexiest woman for the 70 year olds. Leo rising with Sun on ascendant, with Neptune and Mars close by. Moon conjunct Venus. Of course she is sexy, its' written in the stars. See you all next week Gill DorrenLodge Lecture | Class | Charts Discussion
