Lodge Lecture | Charts Discussion

Lodge Lecture

Scheduling a talk on Sun, Moon and Saturn for the day of the Capricorn new Moon opposite Saturn seemed like a good match of symbolism but you must be careful of involving Saturn imagery as you get exactly what you ask for: low energy, lack of vitality and simply too much to do. I started by reminding everyone of the symbolism of the Sun, the Moon and Saturn and then looking at Sun with Saturn and Moon with Saturn.

After all the theory we looked at some examples showing various ways these combinations can play out in the real world. What was clear is that the yearning and craving which Saturn has for the things it aspects was very clear. Moon Saturn examples included Drew Barrymore, Judy Garland, Sam Peckinpah and Nelson Mandella. All of these yearned for emotional contact in some way. From the family chaos of Barrymore and Garland we see a need to be held an unconditionally emotionally accepted. Peckinpah, amongst other things, gives us an example of mastery of the land: he was born on Peckinpah Mountain and Mandella gives us a clear example of how the symbols in our charts are much more than psychological. How clear an example o f emotional isolation can you have than a man who was imprisoned for 27 years?

Sun Saturn examples included Frank Capra who dragged himself out of a poor blue collar existence, working his way through college to become a great director, General Norman Schwartzkopf, Liberace and Kenneth Star. Conspiracy theorists will love the fact that Star's partile Sun/ Saturn conjunction at 28 Cancer is only two degrees away from George W Bush's Saturn at 26 Cancer.

Charts Discussion

Well, our first chart discussion was a hard biting debate. Firstly we did the chart of Tsunami, Santiago Mantas led the way and showed all the charts relevant to the catastrophe. He explained the geodetic chart, and the eclipse of 2001 which influenced the event as this was a powerful eclipse which resonated with the full moon of the actual event, and explained that such eclipses do have effects in the long term. Other aspects discussed was Chiron opposing Saturn which greatly symbolised the open wound of the planet. Also the Mars in square aspect to Uranus and obviously that powerful Full Moon. Santiago also explained that the event chart had a 120' where there was empty space and this is seen a lot in earthquake charts as the planets are then in one area of the sky and this does pull on the tidal and magnetic forces of our fragile Earth.

Helen Jacobus also showed us the parallels with the September 11th Chart. Our hearts go out to those effected.

We then discussed the synastry chart of Gordon and Tony - our leaders.

The we looked at the wedding chart of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston - and noted they had had a powerful Saturn transit , which if they had only held out a bit longer... A synastry chart was requested for perhaps another chart discussion. Now the synastry chart with me and Brad is fantastic, if only (OK I have Neptune on my ascendant OK!)

Lastly we looked at the chart of Germaine Greer (who has been on "I'm a celebrity...") and we all discussed her Aquarian nature.

See you all next week.
