Lodge Lecture

We were delighted to welcome Dietrech Pessin from the US tonight. Her talk was about navigating the Cycles of your life through the power of Moon Phases and Eclipses. After years of data collection she discovered a link between Moon phases occurring at nine-month intervals over a two and a quarter year period. The discovery clearly revealed life patterns. Each of the the four quarters of the Moon occur near the same sign and degree of the Zodiac in a nine month cycle. She calls this the Lunar Gestation Cycle. Having identified this cycle she labelled each related group a Moon Family. She then went on to demonstrate, through working with the audience, how personal story lines occurred at these times. These stories often had a greater impact if the Moon family also contained a Solar and/or a Lunar eclipse.

One full cycle is completed in approximately the same amount of time it takes Saturn to travel through a sign. Working through the phases of the Moon one is able to look at when things begin (New Moon), as things emerge that require action (First Quarter), the culmination of full exposure of plans or issues.(Full Moon) and finally the rewards, reviews, closures etc. (Last Quarter). Not all Moon families repeat after the last Quarter Moon. Next generation Moon families cluster around Solar and Lunar Eclipses.

The talk was based on a new version of her book Lunar Shadows II, which has just been published. The book is full of explanation, samples and tables, everything you need to get going on this method of prediction. Her Lunar Phases are featured on Astroloabe's Solar Fire.
