This evening's lecture took up two sessions and was given by the delightful Christine Chalklin. An experienced Astrology and therapist, she started recently started offering a combination of Reiki and Bach Flower Remedies for healing. She started by giving us a history of Dr Edward Bach, who was born 5:45 am 26th September 1886. He was a Physician, a Bacteriologist, medical researcher and Homeopath who eventually came to the conclusion that the personality of the patient had a profound effect on how they would respond to medical treatment. His insight 'treat the individual, not the disease' became the cornerstone of his new system of healing. The Flower remedies are a series of homoeopathically prepared liquid essences, made from plants, flowers and trees of the countryside. Non-invasive and non-toxic the flower essences inspired calm, balance and strength. The carrier substance is water and the preservative is brandy (or alcohol). The energy pattern of the plant is transferred to water by the action of sunlight or in some cases by boiling the water. Dr Bach was so finely tuned that by just touching a plant he could sense a 'vibration'. The most famous of these remedies today is 'Rescue Remedy', made up of 'Rock Rose' (used to combat fear), Impatiens (used for nervousness), 'Clematis' (to help focus) and 'Star of Bethlehem' (for shock). There are thirty eight remedies in all, which can be used alone or in combination and Christine says that as we are working here on an emotional level, then we should look to our Moon sign for the answer to our problems. Thus we looked at all the signs. Natal Moon Sign - Essence - Possible State of Mind
