Lodge Lecture

Tonight Mike Edwards talked further, as promised, on the 'Enlightenment of Buddha'. He refreshed our memory on the talk he gave on December 8th last term. Buddha, who came from a privileged background, left home on his first Saturn return.

By the age of thirty five having become totally disillusioned, he sat beneath a Banyan tree and finally became enlightened. The Chart was given as 8th December, 528 BC with Mercury rising at 23 deg 13' of Scorpio. There was a Solar eclipse on Venus in the year of enlightenment.

Great Mutation cycle means change in Religion. On the 8th December Venus was in the East - a morning star. He also put up a form of nativity for Buddha, 11 May 563 BC 12:15, Kapilavastan, Nepal. It showed the Sun in the 9th house in its joy, the Moon in the third house in joy. Saturn and Mercury went into Taurus three times that year.

As usual the lecture was superb.
