As a last minute cancellation for tonight's lecture we were fortunate to be able to get Joanna Watters (overseas tutor from The Company of Astrologers) to give her talk on using Tarot with Astrology. She explained that whilst a chart reading took considerable mathematical calculation, a spread of Tarot cards could see what was going on quite quickly, what was blocking the situation and what the outcome would be up to six months down the line. She was able to demonstrate this with stories, charts and card spreads.

Bernard Eccles gave his second class on Heaven and Earth: Rediscovering the Planets and the Seasons.

He explained, by drawing diagrams about the stars and their positions around the celestial equator and the planets which are close to the ecliptic. The celestial equator runs through Orion's belt, so it rises at this time of year (firing at Taurus) in the night sky. Then it was time to get on to Sysygies - the first order of recurring cycles, conjunctions, which were discussed at great length.

Then he went on to second order recurring revolutions with all the planets and referred to Ptolemy's handy tables and Ptolemy's Almergast.
