Lodge Lecture

Tonight we were treated to the discovery of the Libra Lottery Project which is being run by the speaker for the evening Mick O'Neill. The experiment is being run based on the theory of S. J. P. Spottiswoode that when the MC is in around 24 degrees of Libra, psychic abilities are enhanced. It is being applied to Mark Zilberman's lottery work extended to Dean Radin's ongoing work, showing that a group of people all using their minds in unison manifest powerful psychic effect.

He first did the experiment at the Rainbow circle and then at last years AA Conference. He started by showing us a graph showing the increase in psychic activity around this time. The theory is that at that time there are not so many stars visible in the sky and that Spica is the bright star on its own as the ecliptic is raising at its most extreme. Scientifically it is probably the time when there are few stars above us. He then went on to produce various statistics for numbers chosen and winning lottery tickets achieved by using meditation at this time. We finished the evening with our own experiment - so watch this space...

Mick O'Neill is a full time researcher in astrology and psychic astrology. He has a science degree from Melbourne University. He formed a group in 1972 with Nick Campion, Jonathan Cainer, Maurice McCann and others, called Aspects, which later disbanded. In 1985 he joined the AIR (Astrological Investigation Research) which was affiliated to the AA. He has since written a book with Nick Kollerstrom called 'The Eureka Effect'. He is the sound recordist for the AA conferences and gives talks on a regular basis.

Claire Simms gave the first of two intended talks on the techniques of Mundane Astrology which replaced the class that were listed by Prashun Dutt. She started by explaining that Mundane Astrology affected the masses, the group mind and attributed a great deal of her material to a book on the subject by Michael Baigent, Nick Campion and Charles Harvey. The class was full of information explaining how a cycle runs from the conjunction to the square - invisible at birth to first crisis to the opposition - flowering, crossing over to the next square - consequence of action etc.

Waxing planetary periods were better that waning. How effects of eclipses start before an eclipse. We then looked at the chart of the UK and examined the planets and their meanings within the chart on a mundane level. Obviously different planetary cycles affected the world order and the countries in the same as well as in different ways. Great lesson.

Charts Discussion

They say variety they say is the 'spice of life', well this week was definitely spicy.

Firstly we looked at the chart of Katherine Hepburn. What a lovely chart. Scorpio rising which showed great sense of survival, which she needed in the profession she had chosen. A career in the movies, Jupiter/Neptune conjunction, so apt. Mars conjunct Uranus showed her independent character and a need to do things a different way, her way. Venus debilitated in Aries and in the 6th house showed that relationships were never going to be easy. Mercury in Taurus showed us that gravely sexy voice. Her sun was in Taurus with the Moon in the 7th house, not only showed us her staying power but her popularity.

Next we did the chart of a newcomer to the Lodge.

Then we did the event chart of the New Moon in Cancer which had occurred on Sunday and which had hit the Lodge's Saturn. Money, responsibilities all was discussed.

Finally we looked at the foundation chart for the Bank of England. The story of this was given on the programme 'What the Stuarts did for us' on the previous week. It was ingeniously conceived so that people would unwittingly spend their money twice. People gave their money to the bank, which promptly lent it to the government at an interest rate of 8% (which funnily enough it never paid back!!!!!!) The bank then passed this rate to the saver who it also issued with a bank note for the amount which the saver could then spend, albeit in reality, the money wasn't there. Like credit cards today really.!!

Anyway, the genius idea, concerning money, is Venus conjunct Uranus on the Midheaven and the deception of people is definitely the Neptune opposition to the ascendant. It was also asked if the event was anything to do with the Navy and funnily enough the Government used the money for shipbuilding in preparation for war. Again people paid the price for a war they didn't want. Overtones with events today were definitely recognised.
