Lodge Lecture | Members' Classes | Charts Discussion Lodge LectureThis was a very interesting lecture given by our Class tutor Helene Schnitzer. Helene was able to show us how local space lines taken from our place of birth based on our planetary placements would reach for about 35 miles from base in order to plan our movements in our local environment. As we always look at the chart with South at the top we have to turn the chart in order to face the right direction. For moving home it is not advisable to move along the Saturn line - the house will never be finished (Something I have to look at as my house is still not finished after 11 years!) Then we moved out of the house and in to the local area, making sure that any food was purchased from establishments on our Moon line etc. We were then treated to a variety of charts from Princess Diana with her Neptune line running through Paris, Mother Theresa with her Venus line running through Calcutta and also the charts of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Napoleon and Hitler. It was all intriguing and it definitely works. Carole WestMembers' ClassesThis week Claire Chandler put the finishing touches to the cycles of life and then looked at cycles in Mundane Astrology. Here we looked at the cycles of the outer planets to each other and to the personal planets. How whole periods brought in things like the Industrial Revolution and how various countries would be affected globally by these cycles. A very comprehensive and interesting class. Claire has her own website which you can reach from our links page. Carole WestCharts DiscussionA political feel to charts discussion – but with a difference, this week. Firstly Santiago showed us the chart of Tony Blair – with the event chart of when he was sent to hospital on Sunday with his irregular heartbeat. Santiago also showed the solar arc progressions. It was predicted that Tony Blair may have a recurrence of the problems again in February. We then looked at Gordon Brown and the chart of his new born son John. We believe that John Brown will be charismatic and very good looking with Venus in Scorpio on the ascendant but with the south node there too – may be his own self - undoing. With Moon so close to Saturn in Cancer – a very close relationship with Mother is indicated. Mars and Uranus on the 4th house cusp –: a restless unsettled childhood. Pluto in the 2nd – good with money – maybe he can give the Chancellor a few tips. A study of the chart of Ian Duncan Smith to see what might be indicating his problems. The ruler of the 7th house is transiting his first. Yes he has problems with his marital partner. We also looked at Michael Portillo to see if he would be the next leader and he also has exciting times coming along in February with a Uranus transit. So a very busy and enlightening discussion. For the next debate I want to take a look at the history of Concorde – this will be in a few weeks. Look forward to seeing you there. Gill Dorren |
