Lodge Lecture | Members' Classes | Charts Discussion Lodge LectureIt was a great pleasure to welcome Roy Gillett, the President of the Astrological Association to the Lodge this week. Roy decided to give us some insight into what was going on for the United States and its relationship to the rest of the world as he had just returned from the US, having lectured there. He put up charts for George Bush and the inauguration chart. More importantly the chart of the time Bush announced war with Iraq 17th March 2003, 8 pm Washington, DC and asked 'Are you able to control the situation?' With a grand cross in mutable and a full Moon the whole situation is a dance of the planets. Having Uranus in Pisces may heal the arrogance of Aquarius. However, Roy then explained the history of the whole situation in the Middle East. There was a cause, which is a product of what we created. It was all down to the Middle East Mandate, which was timed 11.22 am on 25 April 1920 in San Remo, Italy. At the time there was just a blank desert, formerly ruled by Turkey, which the UK occupied after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in 1918. Eventually the British, along with France, working through the League of Nations divided the desert up into Kingdoms, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine (into which the government allowed Jewish Immigration), which 30 years later became the state of Israel. Iraq consisted of three regions - Mosul, Baghdad and Basra, the Kurds were also promised a homeland and that did not materialise. So we could see that the unrest had in fact been festering since way back then. It would seem with Saturn moving ahead of the US natal Saturn it is creating a major financial crisis which they may not be able to get out of until 2006. A very interesting and enlightening talk. Carole WestMembers' ClassesOur second and final class with Mariella Cassar was as excellent as the first. This time she looked at a Mars return for looking at things in the chart for on going counselling as Mars takes on a two year cycle. So Mars is action. Check out how it is working in the natal chart. It is also about energy, courage and anger. Mars go retrograde once a year when it reaches an opposition to the sun. Maximum stress will be around an inconjunct aspect. The Sun will do and Mars will act. We then looked at the natal chart of Prince Charles as he was the man of the week and his solar return chart. The sun was in the first house conjunct the South Node indicating a loss of ego. A void of course moon indicating depression. Transiting Mars is square natal Mars, transiting Jupiter is square natal Mars, transiting MC is conjunct natal Pluto. The Lunar return on 7th November 2003 unlikely to show emotions (12th house): no emotional support. The dispositor of the Moon is Venus in inconjunct aspect so not able to express his feelings at all. Mars in Pisces: no clear or firm ground. Mariella Cassar is a consulting Astrologer and Counsellor. She can be reached by email Charts DiscussionWe took a look at the full Moon eclipse that had occurred over the weekend and the beautiful 6 pointed star that was formed with it - which was as follows:
A time of healing - a time of focus, a time of expanding your horizons all getting ready for the New Moon eclipse in Sagittarius at the end of November. Its life the Sky is prompting you on to prepare yourself for the new beginnings to come, in a most beautiful way. OK Jupiter/Saturn and Mars are not strong in the signs they are in but maybe the sky is just saying whatever you don't like about your life - confront it (Jupiter opposing Mars and Saturn opposing Chiron), finish it, Sun opposing Moon and then move on. The new Royal, Baby Wessex was born under these auspices. We looked at the chart. Leo rising, so she will love all the attention the Royals have Moon in Taurus on the MC she will be popular with the people. She has Mars and Uranus in the 7th so a bit of a rebel here. A beautiful week for the stars I hope that configuration bodes well for everyone. No charts discussion next week as it is the Annual General Meeting but see you the week after that. Gill Dorren |
